Product Overview
Developed by Qingdao Huashida Machinery with over 21 years of pipeline anti-corrosion equipment manufacturing experience, this high-output heat shrink sleeve machine is a complete cross-linked PE sleeve production line for water supply pipeline joint protection. It integrates PE film extrusion, electron beam radiation crosslinking, and precision hot melt adhesive coating into one continuous system.
The line mass-produces heat shrink tape and sleeves for field joint coating (FJC), girth weld sealing, and buried pipeline corrosion protection. Controlled by a PLC system with an ABB main motor, the line delivers stable output, energy savings, and easy operation. It is widely used by customers in the Middle East, Russia, Central Asia, and Africa.
This plastic extrusion machinery supports standard two-layer sleeves and upgraded three-layer fiberglass reinforced sleeves. It is available in 650mm, 750–800mm, and 1100–1200mm configurations and can be customized to your sleeve width and output requirements. Finished water pipeline joint sleeves cover municipal water supply pipes, oil and gas transmission pipelines, district heating pre-insulated pipes, and drainage pipelines.
Finished Products
The line produces radiation cross-linked PE pipe joint protection materials in line with international anti-corrosion standards.
Standard Two-Layer Products
Cross-linked PE heat shrink tapes, conventional sleeves, and clip-on sleeves. With >150N/cm peel strength (ASTM D1000), they provide stable waterproof sealing for water supply and gas pipeline girth welds.
Upgraded Fiberglass Reinforced Products
Three-layer reinforced heat shrink sleeves and tapes with 15–20MPa tensile strength, strong impact resistance, and long-term aging resistance. They suit large-diameter trunk pipelines in high-salinity, desert, and cold-climate regions.
Product Applications
Sleeves from this production line offer stable shrinkage, strong bonding, and excellent waterproof anti-corrosion performance for pipe joint protection:
- Water Supply Pipeline Joint Protection: girth weld and field joint coating of 3LPE/2PE coated steel pipes in municipal water supply and long-distance water transmission projects.
- Oil and Gas Pipeline Girth Weld Protection: large-diameter transmission pipelines and seamless steel pipe field joints.
- District Heating Pipeline Sealing: joint anti-corrosion and thermal sealing for PU foam pre-insulated pipelines.
- Drainage and Sewage Pipeline Sealing: spiral corrugated pipes, steel-reinforced plastic pipes, and PVC-U sewage pipes.
- Pipeline Maintenance and Rehabilitation: gap sealing, damage repair, and joint renovation of buried pipelines.
Production Line Composition
This pipeline anticorrosion machinery uses a modular configuration of extrusion system, hot melt adhesive coating system, optional fiberglass upgrade device, and PLC intelligent control for continuous production.
- RS-800 PE Backing Extrusion Line: this PE film extrusion line delivers a stable 150–200kg/h output of high-purity LDPE/HDPE backing film, ensuring uniform film for sleeve production.
- TJ-700 Adhesive Coating Line: a field joint coating machine for automatic online hot melt adhesive coating (DuPont, Sumitomo, and Hanwha compatible), with secondary stretching and shaping. It produces a uniform adhesive layer and >150N/cm peel strength.
- Fiberglass Reinforced Upgrade Configuration: fiber unwinding, constant-temperature heating, and leveling equipment for three-layer reinforced sleeves.
- Auxiliary and Intelligent Control System: irradiation crosslinking device, circulating cooling system, precision haul-off unit, PLC electric control, and ABB high-performance main motor.
Operating Environmental Conditions

Core Production Process
This heat shrink sleeve machine uses a mature three-step molding process, standardized for global pipeline field joint coating material production:
- High-Precision Substrate Extrusion: high-purity PE raw material is plasticized and extruded into flat, uniform backing film on the PE film extrusion line.
- Electron Beam Radiation Crosslinking: professional irradiation gives the film a shape memory effect, high tensile strength, excellent elongation, and aging resistance. This is the core technology of any cross-linked PE sleeve.
- Online Hot Melt Adhesive Coating and Shaping: the cross-linked film is precisely stretched and compounded with imported hot melt adhesive. Finished sleeves meet ASTM D1000 and DIN 30672.
Three-Layer Fiberglass Reinforced Process: automatic fiberglass unwinding, constant-temperature heating, and precise leveling are added to the standard process. This forms three-layer reinforced sleeves in one continuous pass, with ≥100N/cm shear strength (DIN 30672) and more stable shrinkage.
Our Advantages
- High Output, Stable Quality: 150–200kg/h substrate output with PLC and ABB motor for unattended, continuous sleeve production.
