Product Description

Casing Then Foam Insulation Line DN90-315 mm

Overview
Secondary network pipe is not made in campaigns of one size. A plant supplying a city district or a housing scheme runs 32, 50, 75, 110 and 160 mm in the same week, often in batches of twenty pipes. A one-shot line is chosen here because casing extrusion, pipe insertion and foaming sit on one frame: the casing is cut to length and immediately married to the steel pipe, so there is no casing store, no double handling and no second crane. The buyer is usually a compact workshop of 600 to 1,200 m2 feeding a municipal utility or a developer, and the decision is made on payback against bought-in pipe rather than on maximum output.
Process Flow
Casing is extruded, calibrated and cut on the same frame, then transferred sideways by a short roller table to the insertion station. The steel pipe is pushed in against a guide sleeve, both ends are plugged, and one head injects foam. The filled pipe goes to a rack for a day and then to trimming, chamfering and a holiday test.
Key Configuration
One 90 mm single screw extruder feeds a spiral mandrel die and a vacuum calibration sleeve, and the cut casing is transferred sideways to the insertion station by a short roller table, so the line fits a 12 m bay. On the DN75-250 mm line the calibration sleeve is cut with a shrinkage allowance for the compound, and vacuum is held at a level that keeps the tube against the bore until the wall is rigid. The foaming station is a single high pressure head sized at 40 kg/min, which matches a 20 to 40 pipe day without holding a large shot in the mixing chamber where it would start to react.
Applications
Secondary heating networks inside a city block; service connections from a main to a building; housing estate distribution; small diameter hot water pipe for public buildings; replacement lengths for old directly buried steel service pipe. These are short runs welded on site, so the cutback and the end seal matter as much as the insulation value.
Standards
Typically GB/T 29047 for domestic work, EN 253 where the utility follows European practice. Both require a bonded system with closed cell content at 88 percent or above, and both are checked by a shear test on a sample cut from production. Which standard governs the DN75-250 mm line is decided before the order is released, as EN 253, GOST 30732 and GB/T 29047 lead to different acceptance tests.
Service & Support
Installation of the DN75-250 mm line is supervised for 15 to 25 days, and the schedule is anchored to the first pipe you intend to sell. On the DN75-250 mm line the training priority is calibration and wall first, foam density and adhesion second, because that is the order failures appear in.
Why Huashida
We build insulation lines and we also run pipe coating operations of our own, so the argument about whether a casing fits is one we have had internally rather than one we have only heard from customers. The company was founded in 2003, holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and its equipment runs in more than 40 countries.

HDPE Jacket Process Flow:

  1. Vacuum Feeding of PE Granules: The raw PE granules are automatically fed into the system via vacuum suction.
  2. Hot Air Drying: The granules are dried using hot air to remove moisture, ensuring optimal extrusion quality.
  3. Extrusion Plasticizing: The dried granules are plasticized through the extruder, heated and mixed to form a molten plastic mass.
  4. Mold Shaping: The molten plastic is shaped into the desired pipe profile by passing through the extrusion die.
  5. Vacuum Sizing: The pipe is then subjected to vacuum sizing, adjusting its dimensions to precise specifications.
  6. Water Cooling: The pipe is cooled rapidly by immersion in a water tank to solidify its shape and structure.
  7. Pulling Out: The solidified pipe is pulled out of the cooling tank at a controlled speed.
  8. Cutting: The pipe is cut to the desired length using a precision cutting machine.
  9. Carrier Laying-off: The cut pipes are then neatly laid off onto a carrier for further handling or packaging

The production steps of the insulation layer for a pre-insulated pipe, specifically focusing on the polyurethane (PU) foam insulation, are outlined below in detail:

  1. Formation of the Casing Structure:
    • The steel pipe is first inserted into the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) outer protection pipe, creating a casing structure.
    • Supports are evenly arranged in the annular space between the steel pipe and the HDPE outer pipe to maintain a uniform distance and prevent the two pipes from touching directly.
    • The two ends of the casing are sealed with flanges to ensure that the polyurethane foaming material will be contained within the space during the injection process.
  2. Preparation of the Steel Pipe Surface:
    • Prior to the injection of the insulation material, the surface of the steel pipe undergoes pre-treatment such as shot blasting or blast cleaning. This step removes any impurities, rust, or scale, providing a clean and suitable surface for optimal adhesion of the polyurethane insulation.
    • Additionally, corona treatment of the polyethylene pipe shell's surface may also be performed to enhance its adhesion properties.
  3. Injection of Polyurethane Foaming Material:
    • The casing structure is hoisted onto a foaming platform specifically designed for this purpose.
    • A high-pressure foaming machine is used to inject the polyurethane foaming material into the casing. The material expands and fills the entire annular space between the steel pipe and the HDPE outer pipe.
