Cross-Linked PE Heat Shrink Sleeve Production Line for Pipeline Field Joint Protection

Developed by Qingdao Huashida Machinery with over 21 years of pipeline anti-corrosion equipment manufacturing experience, this automatic heat shrink tape machine is a complete sleeve production line for municipal drainage, corrugated pipe and pipeline joint sealing. It combines PE film extrusion, radiation cross-linking and precision hot melt adhesive lamination to mass-produce cross-linked PE heat shrink tape and sleeves. The line is controlled by a PLC system, ensuring stable and continuous output. It is widely used by customers in the Middle East, Russia, Central Asia and Africa.

This plastic extrusion line supports standard two-layer products and upgraded three-layer fiberglass reinforced products. It is available in 650mm, 750–800mm and 1100–1200mm configurations and can be customized to the tape width and output you require. Applications cover oil and gas transmission pipelines, district heating pre-insulated pipelines and municipal drainage pipelines.

The line produces radiation cross-linked PE protective materials for pipe joints, in line with international anti-corrosion standards.

Cross-linked PE heat shrink tapes, conventional sleeves and clip-on sleeves. With >150N/cm peel strength (ASTM D1000), they deliver stable sealing for drainage pipe sealing tape and corrugated pipe joint sleeve applications.

Three-layer reinforced tapes and sleeves with 15–20MPa tensile strength, strong impact resistance and long-term aging resistance, engineered for harsh underground conditions.

This line uses a modular configuration of extrusion system, adhesive coating system, optional fiberglass upgrade device and PLC control.

• RS-800 PE Backing Extrusion Line: stable 150–200kg/h output of high-purity LDPE/HDPE backing film. This PE film extrusion machine ensures uniform film for tape production.
• TJ-700 Adhesive Coating Line: automatic online hot melt adhesive coating (DuPont, Sumitomo and Hanwha compatible), secondary stretching and shaping, for a uniform adhesive layer and >150N/cm peel strength.
• Fiberglass Reinforced Upgrade Configuration: fiber unwinding, constant-temperature heating and leveling equipment for three-layer reinforced tape.
• Auxiliary and Intelligent Control System: irradiation cross-linking device, circulating cooling system, precision haul-off unit, PLC electric control and ABB main motor.

The cross-linked sleeve machine uses a three-step molding process for pipe joint sealing materials:

1. 1 Substrate Extrusion: high-purity PE raw material is plasticized and extruded into flat, uniform backing film.
2. 2 Electron Beam Radiation Cross-Linking: professional irradiation gives the film a shape memory effect, high tensile strength and aging resistance.
3. 3 Online Adhesive Lamination and Shaping: the film is precisely stretched and compounded with imported hot melt adhesive. Finished tape meets ASTM D1000 and DIN 30672.

Three-Layer Fiberglass Reinforced Process: automatic fiberglass unwinding, constant-temperature heating and leveling are added to form three-layer reinforced tape in one continuous pass, with ≥100N/cm shear strength (DIN 30672).
