2LPE Coating Line for Steel Pipe Manufacturing with 57-3000 mm Range, Powder Coating, and 1-6 m/Min Velocity

The 2PE (Two-Layer Polyethylene) coating system is a highly reliable anti-corrosion solution designed to protect steel pipelines used in oil, gas, water, and industrial applications. This system combines the strong adhesion of Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) with the mechanical protection of a polyethylene outer layer, ensuring long-term durability and resistance against harsh environmental conditions.

2PE coating is widely used for buried and offshore pipelines, offering excellent corrosion resistance, impact strength, and cost-effective performance.

The 2PE system consists of two functional layers:

• First Layer - FBE (Fusion Bonded Epoxy): Applied directly to the cleaned steel surface, provides excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance, acts as the primary anti-corrosion barrier.
• Second Layer - Polyethylene (PE): Extruded over the FBE layer, offers mechanical protection and water resistance, enhances impact strength and durability.

Upload pipes → Pipes Conveyor → Rust Removal by Shot-blasting → Intermediate Frequency Heating → Epoxy Powder Coating → Polyethylene Wrap → Water cooling → Pipe Edge Beveling → Unload pipes.

• Surface Preparation (Shot Blasting): Steel pipes are cleaned using abrasive blasting to remove rust, oil, and contaminants, achieving the required surface roughness.
• Induction Heating: Pipes are heated to the optimal temperature (typically 180-250°C) to ensure proper adhesion of the FBE layer.
• FBE Powder Application: Epoxy powder is electrostatically sprayed onto the heated pipe, forming a uniform anti-corrosion layer.
• Polyethylene Extrusion Coating: A layer of molten polyethylene is extruded and wrapped around the pipe, bonding firmly with the FBE layer.
• Cooling System: The coated pipe is cooled using water or air cooling systems to solidify the coating.
• Inspection and Testing: Quality checks such as thickness measurement, adhesion testing, and holiday detection are conducted.
