Production Process of Cold-Applied Anticorrosion Tape
The manufacturing process of cold-applied anticorrosion tape generally involves three primary stages: base film extrusion, adhesive coating, and slitting & packaging. Each step is designed to ensure product uniformity, adhesion performance, and long-term durability.
1. Base Film Extrusion
Raw Material Preparation:
Polyethylene (PE) granules are used as the primary material for the base film. The raw material is carefully prepared to ensure purity and consistent quality.
Extrusion Forming:
The PE material is heated and melted in the extruder, then extruded through a die to produce a continuous film with a stable structure.
Cooling and Calibration:
The molten film is passed through cooling rollers, which solidify and shape it to achieve uniform thickness and smooth surface properties.
2. Adhesive Coating
Adhesive Preparation:
Butyl rubber-based adhesives are compounded to achieve the required viscosity, tackiness, and stability for optimal bonding performance.
Coating Application:
The prepared adhesive is evenly applied to one or both sides of the PE base film using precision coating equipment, forming a consistent and uniform adhesive layer.
3. Slitting and Packaging
Slitting Setup:
The coated film roll is loaded onto the slitting machine, and the cutting parameters are adjusted according to the desired tape width specifications.
Slitting Operation:
The wide adhesive-coated film is slit into narrow rolls of cold-applied tape, ensuring clean edges and accurate dimensions.
Winding and Final Packaging:
The finished tapes are wound into rolls, carefully inspected, packaged, and prepared for storage or shipment.
